75 Soft: My Grace Filled Return to Wellness

I’m starting a 75 Soft Challenge—but not the kind rooted in discipline and rigidity. This one is about grace.

If you’ve spent any time in wellness circles on social media, you’ve probably come across the 75 Hard Challenge—a highly disciplined, all-or-nothing program that includes two 45-minute workouts a day, strict dieting (with no cheat meals), a gallon of water daily, ten pages of reading, and no alcohol—for 75 days straight. And if you mess up or miss a day, you have to start all over again.

While it’s gained popularity for its mental toughness focus, for many (especially new moms or anyone in a demanding season of life), 75 Hard can feel…well, too hard. The intensity doesn’t leave much room for rest, flexibility, or grace, and sometimes, it can even backfire, promoting burnout over balance.

That’s where 75 Soft comes in.

It’s not an official program, but rather a gentler, grace-filled alternative. It’s about building consistency without the pressure of perfection. And for me—five months postpartum, breastfeeding, sleep-deprived, and juggling motherhood, working outside of the home, and running a business, 75 Soft is exactly what I need.

It’s been five months since giving birth to our sweet baby, and in that short time, life has been a beautiful whirlwind of feedings, snuggles, late nights, and deep transformation. I’ve been stretched in every way—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. And now, as I settle more into this new season, I’m feeling the nudge to gently re-center. So that’s why I’m starting a 75 Soft challenge.

Why “Soft”?

Because postpartum requires softness.

Softness toward my body, which has done something sacred and hard.
Softness toward my mind, which needs quiet and care after months of sleep deprivation.
Softness toward my expectations, which tend to creep in with comparison and pressure.

I’m not doing this intending to lose weight. I’m not doing it to fit into a certain size of jeans. I’m doing this to feel more like myself again—to nourish my body, move gently and consistently, get outside, hydrate deeply, and create a rhythm that supports my mental and physical wellbeing. I want to show up for my family from a place of strength, not depletion. And I want to model to my child (and remind myself) that caring for our health is a form of gratitude, not punishment.

What My 75 Soft Looks Like

This isn’t a one-size-fits-all program. I’m tailoring it to fit my current season of life as a breastfeeding mom, a business owner, and a human being who values ancestral nourishment and grace-filled wellness.

Here’s what I’m committing to for 75 days:

  • One intentional movement per day: a walk, postpartum strength session, stretching—something that reconnects me with my body

  • Hydration with electrolytes daily: because hydration is more than just water (and breastfeeding is demanding), and I’ve had a difficult time reminding myself to stay hydrated since starting back to work. I switched to a smaller water bottle when I had my baby because it’s easier to transport, but I got the 40 oz Stanley back out, and I’ll be adding my favorite minerals to it daily.

  • Daily ancestral meals and nourishment: focusing on nutrient-dense, healing foods to support both body composition and milk supply. Something else I’ve found difficult is fueling my body appropriately. We’ve been in the midst of a crazy elimination diet trying to figure out some digestive issues with my son, and between cutting out some major food groups for a short season, and the daily demands of motherhood, I’ve found myself feeling depleted. So my focus will be eating enough to make sure I’m fueling my body appropriately

  • 15+ minutes of reading or prayer: something to center and nourish my mind. And since I find it hard to sit down and read my Bible daily, that will my #1 priority for reading. 75 Hard says you can’t do audiobooks, but guess what? This grace-filled approach is ALL over audiobooks if that’s what helps us stay consistent.

  • No scale, no restriction, no pressure: (okay, no restriction outside of what is medically necessary for this current season) just mindful nourishment, intention, and self-respect

Reclaiming Wellness Without All-Or-Nothing Thinking

I’m not starting this challenge to prove anything. I’m starting because I believe small, consistent acts of care add up to big transformation, especially when done from a place of love instead of control.

I’m aiming for consistency over perfection. If I miss a day or don’t fully complete a day? No big deal. This is about building rhythms and routines for long-term sustainability. If you’re in a season where wellness has taken a back seat, know this: you don’t have to go all in to begin again. You can start gently. You can show up “soft.” And it still counts.

I’ll be sharing updates here and on Instagram as I go—honest reflections, meal ideas, movement inspiration, and lots of encouragement.

If you’re craving a gentle reset that nourishes your body and your nervous system, consider this your invitation.

This isn’t a race. It’s a return to rhythm, to strength, to softness, to self.

With grace,
